Supernatural is back tonight on The CW at 9 p.m. ET. It’s been 6 long weeks of hiatus but our favourite hunters are finally back and they’re ready to hunt Gadreel and get some revenge.
Here’s the official description for tonight’s episode, Road Trip:
“DEAN’S BEST CHANCE OF SAVING SAM LIES WITH CROWLEY — Dean (Jensen Ackles) is devastated after Kevin’s death and vows to find the angel that killed him, not only to free Sam (Jared Padalecki), but to seek revenge. Castiel (Misha Collins) arrives at the bunker and suggests they try to separate Sam’s brain from the angel’s so they can talk to Sam and have him expel Gadreel. However, there’s one small problem: the only person who knows how to do that is Crowley (Mark Sheppard). Robert Singer directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (910).”
So it seems like we’re gonna be picking up where we left off with Holy Terror. To sum it up: Sam is gone, so is Gadreel, Castiel has stolen some other angel’s grace, Kevin is dead and Dean is devastated. It’s seems like it’s gonna be a hell of a ride. What can we expect for tonight’s episode, then?
A hunter funeral for Kevin. I don’t know about you but I’m still not over Kevin’s death at all. A hunter funeral is the least he deserves.
Dean and Castiel to finally TALK. Dean’s been lying and treating Castiel very poorly in the first half of the season. Primarily because he had to kick him out of the bunker when Cas most needed him. We can expect Dean to finally tell all the truth about Ezekiel/Gadreel to Cas.
To know what’s going on in Crowleys’ head. We haven’t gotten much of Crowley in the first half of the season, which is something we’d expect after hearing his emotional speech in the S8 season finale. How is he dealing with what happened to him? How is he feeling now? What is he been thinking (or planning) all this time in that dungeon? How afraid is he of Abaddon?
Sam. We need Sam. We want Sam to finally find out (this time for real) about Gadreel. We want Sam to get pissed at Dean (because he should be) and we want him to address this issue. And by “this issue” we don’t mean Dean letting an angel in him, we mean the fact that Dean’s willing to do WHATEVER it takes to keep Sam alive. The last consequence of their codependency was Kevin’s corpse. I think it’s time for the brothers to have a long talk.
Castiel addressing his new grace and how it works. Can he keep it forever? Or is he gonna need to keep stealing graces in order to keep the angel mojo? And most importantly: is Castiel’s angel side gonna be seen as something negative compared to his humanity? I think humanity is Castiel’s end game.
We’ll see how many of these things come true tonight. Can’t wait? Here are a few previews and promos we’ve got for tonight’s episode!
