Submissions are now open for Stareable’s first LA web series screening event.
If you’re a fan of web series, chances are you probably know Stareable by now. Stareable is the largest community of web series creators and fans on the web. The site’s goal is “to build the future of television through collaboration and discovery.”
Among Stareable’s newest activities are web series screening events. The community has already hosted screening events in New York City, and now they are moving to the West Coast. The inaugural screening event will take place in Los Angeles on August 24th, and it will be open to the public. During these events, attendees can give exposure to their creations, as well as meeting their peers, and finding new ways to collaborate.
How to participate?
Web series creators wishing to participate can submit one episode from their web series on FilmFreeway until August 1st. The submitted episode would be the one playing during the screening event in case of being selected. The web series submitted should also be free, streaming, episodic, and in English.
On a related note, last May Stareable launched Creator Community, a platform born from creators’ struggle to source collaborators from outside their existing social networks. Creator Community enables conversations on the crafting of web series by offering a place where creators can share advice, resources, and feedback dynamically. It also includes a built-in schedule of daily events to drive engagement, including Stareable’s Guide to Making a Web Series, Creator Critiques, and Ask Me Anything.
