Spring is approaching and so is the Spring Anime Season! Reviews of winter anime will come out as soon as their last episodes air, but for now we are taking a look at some of the most promising and awaited series to come out in the following weeks. Let’s go!

My Hero Academia

my hero academia - spring anime season - the daily fandom
Probably the most hyped anime of the entire year. My Hero Academia is one of the most successful shounen manga at the moment. Filling the void Naruto left, My Hero Academia tells the story of a boy named Izuku Midoriya who wants to become the best hero in a world where a big part of the population possess super powers.

Release Date: April 3rd
Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Shounen, Supernatural

Bungou Stray Dogs

Spring Anime Season - Bungou Stray Dogs - The Daily Fandom
One of the most awaited series of the season. Kid escapes from orphanage, madness ensues. The art style and animation look very appealing, so does the soundtrack. Seinen are usually far more interesting than shounen, so we have high expectations for this one!

Release Date: April 7th
Genres: Mystery, Seinen, Supernatural
Studio: Bones

Big Order

big order - spring anime season - the daily fandom
Thi is the new series by the creator of Mirai Nikki, so you can expect some similarities with the former. “Ten years ago, a child wished for the destruction of the world. Now, a group of people has the ability to grant their wishes depending on their power”. Sounds promising! Will it live up to the expectations and hype of Mirai Nikki?

Release Date: April 16th
Genres: Action, Shounen, Super Power
Studio: Asread

 Joker Game

Joker Game - Spring Anime Season - The Daily Fandom
Joker Game will probably compete Bungou Stray Dogs for best seinen of the season. It’s a historical military story following a mysterious spy training organization in Japan on the eve of World War II. Interesting and produced by Production I.G., no less!

Release Date: April 5th
Genres: Military, Seinen
Studio: Production I.G.

Mayoiga - Spring Anime Season - The Daily Fandom
Mayoiga has earned a place in this list simply for its interesting premise. It’s a story about people who have suffered a lot and who get on a shady bus that takes them to an elusive village, a destination where people can supposedly partake in an utopian existence. Will it really work out for them?

Release Date: April 1st
Genres: Drama, Mystery
Studio: Diomedea

Other anime to keep an eye on are Bakuon!! (like Prince of Stride, but with girls and motorbikes), flying witch (a slice of life take on witches), Gyakuten Saiban (this will especially interest fans of the game franchise) or Sakamoto desu ga? (a comedy about a very, very cool highschool guy).

This season also seems to be plagued with children shows about kids playing with cards, so if you like Yu-Gi-Oh!, you might want to check out Battle Spirits: Double Drive, Beyblade Burst, Future Card Buddyfight DDD or Kamiwaza Wanda.

And no, we haven’t forgotten about sequels and prequels! Sailor Moon fans will get Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Crystal – Death Busters-hen! We will also see continuations of some anime from last year like Concrete Revolutio, Gakusen Toshi Asterisk and Ushio to Tora. Some very popular series are making a comeback too: Kidou Senshi Gundam RE: 0096, JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa KudakenaiMagi: Sinbad no Bouken and Terra Formars: Revenge.
