Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Trailer Release (Rolling Updates)

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse trailer has released finally. This new animated series is dropping in December, and it looks phenomenal. In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse we have Shameik Moore voicing Miles Morales, which is a good choice. Nonetheless, not only is the actor African-American, but he also makes a voice for a character we have never heard before.

Mahershala Ali from Moonlight is playing Miles’ uncle, and Liev Schreiber of X-Men is playing an undisclosed villain. Brian Tyree Henry from the FX television show Atlanta who plays Paper Boi is playing Miles’ dad. Jake Johnson from New Girl will be voicing Peter Parker/Spider-Man. This is an interesting choice, considering we have had many different voices of Parker in the past. We will have to see how Johnson does.

This animated series is a long time comin’, and the synopsis can rest boiled down to a sentence based on Wiki. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Miles Morales – a Brooklyn teen – and the limitless possibilities of a Spider-Verse where more than one can wear the mask of Spider-Man. This is still the same synopsis that remains found on Wiki in September of 2018.

What We Know About Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

This animated film looks exceptional in terms of creative design and animation. And, this could bring us closer to inviting Miles Morales into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, one can hope in that regard… but, having a live-action Miles Morales film would be fantastic for fans. The trailer is about one minute and twenty seconds long — but is telling nonetheless.

It shows fans what Miles will be like on the animated screen, how his powers will look, and essentially what he looks like and is supposed to look like. We get a glimpse into the design of Miles Morales, and he looks just like the comic character does. The comic character was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli. It was based on the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko original Peter Parker.

The character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is firmly based on the creation by Bendis and Pichelli. It looks like when the run first came out, and Morales was a teenager. That means we can assume Morales will be a teenager in this animated film. Regarding anything else? We don’t get much insight into this trailer to know what truly is to come.

This makes it all the more exciting.

There Is One Thing We Do Know

We sort of know this animated series might be dark and might be a coming of age story. It could even tell us what could come next from Morales in the animated Marvel universe (and, hopefully, the MCU). However, what we do know for certain is… it is set to release December 14th, 2018. We are on the edge of our seat waiting for it to come out. We cannot wait for Miles Morales to become something remarkable in the animated Marvel universe.
