Kate Hackett’s new comedy series, Not A Plan, will premiere on July 18th on FunnyOrDie.

Kate Hackett (Classic Alice, The Concession) and Aureate Films have joined forces to produce Not A Plan, “a quirky-weird-coming-of-age story when you’re LONG since meant to be “of age.”

Not A Plan stars Kate as Ann and Chris O’Brien as Ben. Ann and Ben are two “kind of crappy” best friends. These two friends happen to share the same birthday, which might sound impressive at first, but it kind of sucks. The first season of Not A Plan revolves around this unfortunate coincidence, and the shenanigans Ann and Ben go through to plan a shared birthday party. Over the planning process, they realize how different their ways of approaching life are, and how they’re not quite where they expected they’d be at nearly 30 years of age.

Shot with a single handheld camera, the first season consists of 8 short episodes that work as “sketches woven together into a plot.” The series is presented as You’re the Worst, but without the sex, or Curb Your Enthusiasm, but younger. Plans for a second season? That’s up to you, the viewer!

Not A Plan will be available for streaming on FunnyOrDie on July 18th at 9AM PT. In the meantime, make sure to join their Facebook premiere party!
