A mockumentary web series about space travel is on the radar for May 3rd, 2018 — which is this week! The web series is titled, My Astronaut.
The season will consist of eight episodes in season one. It will premiere once a week on YouTube and Vimeo every Thursday. We(The Daily Fandom)got a sneak peek at the first episode. What we can tell you is… it’s 12-minutes of pure goodness.
Micah wants to be with Maggie… but, Maggie wants to go to Mars. Can their love survive her one-way ticket to another planet? In this eight-episode mockumentary web series, it answers the question of what one dim-witted boyfriend does to keep his girlfriend from leaving to another planet.
This could make or break their relationship and Micah just won’t let that happen. The trailer is currently out and the pilot is almost here. The series contains comedian Scott Adsit from 30 Rock, Sarah Stiles from Get Shorty, and Pia Glenn from The Opposition with Jordan Klepper in the supporting roles.
Season one of My Astronautbegins with two filmmakers arriving to profile Maggie Placek (Magdalena Waz). Maggie is an underdog candidate for a civilian mission to Mars. They soon find that her boyfriend, Micah Pevsner (Micah Paisner) might hold the key to a story far more interesting. And, more compelling than a simple 30-second candidate bio.
The series was shot in three out of five New York City boroughs. The team took advantage of everything the city had to offer including iconic locations (Staten Island Ferry, Columbia University, and more!)
