The Darkest Dawn is a British Sci-Fi movie that tells the story of two teenage sisters as Britain descends into an alien apocalypse. The movie stars Bethan Leadley, Cherry Wallis, Stuart Ashen, Mawaan Rizwan, Jamie Paul and Paul Neafcy. It is the first big-scale movie staring YouTubers. Made by award winning director Drew Casson and produced by British Digital Studio Wildseed, the film heralds a new dawn in film making, where traditional avenues of distribution and exhibition are abandoned. Exhibitors are bypassed, big ad campaigns abandoned, box office names replaced with vlogger stars. The film will be only be digitally released and available to download on October 31st. Until then, you can get a taste of the movie through its trailer down below:

There will also be a VidFest UK (featuring especially Mina Murray’s Journal, of which we talked earlier), a PopAsia area with a fusion of Asian cultures, as well as games spots and a free play area. MCM eSports will be hosting a viewing night for League of Legends World Championships Finals on Saturday. A retro gaming tournament and the ESL UK Premiership will also take place, showcasing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends and Overwatch.
