Fear The Walking Dead – ‘Grotesque’ Mid Season Premiere Review

Ladies and gentleman, it’s that time again. If you were anything like me, you were glued to the fate of the Fear the Walking Dead crew and what happened to them next after Los Muertos.

‘Grotesque’ picks up right after the mid-season finale, and the episode seems to follow mostly Nick and his crusade across the mexican desert. This is definitely a similar side of the story as The Walking Dead, as Nick meets up with lots of zombies and even roving bands of marauders and wild dogs.

In this mid-season premiere we find out more about the events before the zombie apocalypse concerning Nick and Madison. We mostly get a glimpse into Nick and his rehab as well as events right before the downfall of society. Furthermore, there was also the introduction of a new character: Luciana (Danay Garcia), who apparently seems to be in charge of a colony of survivors. We only get a brief introduction of her, so we will have to wait and see what part she plays in the overall story.

grotesque - fear the walking dead

All in all, ‘Grotesque’ wasn’t really so much an episode focused on the main storyle, but it was more about presenting backstories.

Fear The Walking Dead airs on Sundays at 7:59ET on AMC.

About Author

Possibly the oldest fan on the Fandom team, JD's love of all things geeky began with books such as the Hardy Boys and The Black Cauldron series. Evolving into others such as Robotech, Dragonlance, and most recently the Sword of Truth book series (not that horific wannabe tv series). With video games, his love began with a Commodore 64 and an Atari gaming console. Graduating to an NES and moving up from there, he found a love for both PC and Console gaming. One cannot forget the basics of most fandoms and sci fi. Having begun his trek into this world with the original Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th century, the 6 million dollar man, 6 million dollar woman...and lets just say the list could go on for a LONG time. Needless to say, he was there at the forefront of a lot of great fandoms when they began.
