A Not-Too-Exhaustive List Of Great Online Games To Play

Online Games

We live in an age of endless media, and this is certainly the case in the world of gaming. Still, that being said, having too many options can be a little stressful. There are so many games out there, but you only have so much spare time. How should you spend that time? Which games are the best out there? Well, we’ve compiled a not-too-exhaustive list of great online games to play. These incredible finds should keep you occupied for the weekend.

1. Pokémon Go

Obviously, you’ve heard of Pokémon Go before, but have you played it since the summer of 2016? Everybody was obsessed with the game 3 years ago, but it’s slipped slightly under the radar in recent years. However, this is a real shame because the game is still absolutely fantastic. In fact, it’s better than ever before. With plenty of new Pokémon being added on a continuous basis and the brilliant new Raid Boss update, now is the time to get back on the Pokémon Go hype train. The incredibly recent Lucky Friends update is amazing too. The game is a chance to get some exercise whilst gaming (very productive) and meet new people.

Niantic is a company that keeps finding new ways to make this game special for all of their users. It’s just a shame that the majority of people lost interest in it once the novelty wore off. They didn’t stick around long enough to see the augmented reality game become more than just a marketing gimmick. It’s been fleshed out into an impressive piece of online gaming. Obviously, it takes online gaming to the next level because it’s tied to the real world in a sense. If you’ve never played Pokémon Go before or it’s been many years since you last tried it out then download it on your phone or tablet. It’s free, and that’s amazing in itself when you consider the content of the game.

2. Toy Car Simulator

Let’s talk about a slightly more obscure game here. Perhaps you’re not always a serious gamer. Perhaps you often like to relax with a silly game that allows you to switch off your brain for an hour or so. If that’s the case then Toy Car Simulator is a game that was tailor-made for you. It really is a prime example of a game that does exactly what it promises on the tin. Toy Car Simulator allows you to race, play, and explore in toy car vehicles.

It might be a silly simulator, but it’s incredibly fun. You should check out some of the other driving games on the Drifted website. When it comes to online racing games, there are plenty of addictive options on that site. It can be really intoxicating, and Toy Car Simulator is just the tip of the iceberg.

3. Red Dead Redemption 2

What a game. The first installment was incredible, but who could’ve expected the beauty of the second addition to the franchise? Released last year, RDR2 is undeniably one of the best video games of the last few years. If you have an Xbox One or a PS4 then you definitely need to get yourself a copy of this game to play. The campaign mode is brilliant, of course, but it’s the online gameplay that really sells this game.

The open-world experience mixed with battles against other gunslinging gamers just makes this a fantastic work of art. Think of the way in which Rockstar Games transformed GTA when they released the fifth installment of the franchise. That’s basically equivalent to what they did with RDR2, so it’s hard to imagine how incredible RDR5 will one day be (let’s hope they keep the franchise going for that long).

4. Wonderputt

If you’re not looking to break the bank this weekend but you want to play some fun online games then you should definitely place Wonderputt at the top of your list. If you’re “wondering” why we’ve “put” this game on our list (no, it wasn’t just to make a terrible pun) then think of this: crazy golf from the comfort of your bedroom. That will be enough to sell you on this great game. You’ll have to beat plenty of great mini golf courses that come with gimmicks such as UFOs and herds of sheep. It’s such a fun game.

You should definitely try it out. Think of the craziest game of crazy golf that you’ve ever played and then multiply that by 10. You’re playing in the virtual world; you’re not limited by the laws of physics.
