5 Best Games Out For The Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch is — hands down — a way better gaming platform than its predecessor, the Nintendo Wii U. Fans had been anticipating this game system since Nintendo was introduced. Its ability to be both a portable handheld gaming system as well as a typical home gaming system was revolutionary! The Switch is the first hybrid system made by the great video game company, Nintendo. Both casual and avid gamers and everyone in between are in love with the Nintendo Switch. However, as such a wonderful system with a ton of games, where do you start?

Let’s start with the 5 best games out for the Switch.

1. Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super. SMASH. BROS! Need I say more? The Super Smash Bros franchise finds greater success with each copy of the game that Nintendo puts out. The franchise has been around since 1999 when Super Smash Bros came out for the Nintendo 64, and it has only gotten better since. Almost 20 years later, this game has evolved greatly. Better quality graphics, larger character selection, and improved gameplay are just a few of the great things we can expect to see in this game.

2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

We all remember playing this game at one point or another. This game was a staple to many of us growing up. It is simple enough that you are able teach people to play in a breeze, making it perfect for a party or a casual hangout with some friends. It will be your go-to game when you are hosting people at your place!

3. Fortnite

This is your typical online shooter, except it allows you to use goofy, fun weapons and costumes to help differentiate itself from the other online shooters out there. This gives gamers a more unique experience. With three different game modes: solo, duos, and squad, you can have a different playing experience each time.

EpicGames, the creators, chose not to limit us from playing only with other people on the Nintendo Switch. You are able to play against Xbox One and PS4 users thanks to their cross-platform play. Oh, and did I mention it’s free? Yeah, you heard me right! It is free to download from the Nintendo Shop.

4. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Submerge yourself in the beautiful Kingdom of Hyrule with this game’s open world gameplay environment. Given perfect ten-out-of-ten reviews by GameSpot and IGN, this game illustrates what happens when artistic vision and phenomenal gameplay meet. Breath of the Wild is the perfect single-player game because of its nonlinear gameplay.

There is no perfect way to complete this game because you have so many different paths you can take. You will lose yourself in this game for hours on end when you originally only sat down to kill 30 minutes. Easy to pick up and hard to put down, this game is a must in everyone’s Nintendo Switch library.

5. Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Another beloved franchise brought to us by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario Bros seems to be the unofficial flagship game for Nintendo. For many of us, if we picture Nintendo, we picture Super Mario, and vice versa. For good reason, too. This game is madly addicting and fun. It will keep busy for hours on end. It won’t be difficult to the point where it is impossible to beat. However, you might get tripped up after a while which just adds to all the fun!

There Is More On The Way For The Nintendo Switch

The games on this list are definitely the best games out right now. But we definitely have a lot more to look forward to this year. We have Mortal Kombat 11 coming out April 23rd, Yoshi’s Crafted World coming out March 29th, and Animal Crossing releasing sometime in 2019.

If you’re like me and can’t wait for those new releases to come out, at least we have five great games to keep us company until then! For now, take a look at what we learned from the recent Mortal Kombat 11 event!
