‘Fairy Tail Zero’ Prequel Gets Anime Adaptation in January

Fairy Tail fans, rejoice! Prequel manga ‘Fairy Tail Zero‘ is getting a TV anime adaptation in January 2016.

The tagline on the poster reads, “The beginning of many things!! The adventure guided by magic and companions…” (translation by AnimeNewsNetwork).

Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazines 51st issue is revealing the anime’s main cast on Wednesday:

Mamiko Noto as Mavis
Katsuyuki Konishi as Yuri
Hiroshi Shirokuma as Warrod
Yoshihisa Kawahara as Precht
Akira Ishida as Zeref
Kana Hanazawa as Zera

Fairy Tail Zero was written by Hiro Mashima himself and was first launched in the first issue of Monthly Fairy Tail in July 2014. The manga ended in the magazine’s 13th and final issue on July 17. The manga has recently been licensed by Kodansha Comics and will be released in summer 2016.
